First thing I would like to say is it’s great that I can save these podcast as mp3 on my computer or in my music player.

Next one is when I see upcoming as well as future topics, it seems it’s mostly for foreigners who are starting in Mongolia, does it? Not for Mongolians who live in here ??

Anyway, it’s good to listen and keep up the great work.

    Goodluck and cheers,
    Zoloo

@Zoloo Thanks for the compliment. To answer your question… Yes, we are more or less targeting foreigners looking to do business and invest in Mongolia. I think in most cases, Mongolians already do have understanding on the subject matter or can obtain it from other sources. If not, I would highly encourage other Mongolians to start creating their own radio shows, or podcasts.

To be perfectly honest with you, part of the reason why we do this for free is to connect with future potential clients. Hopefully, by providing useful content and information, they will be interested in doing business with us.

Thanks again for the nice words and the compliments. Glad you have found it interesting.

Mergen ahaa, finally downloading the episodes. Will listen to them tonight. Looks great so far.

  • mergen

@Nate thank you for downloading our podcast. let me know your thoughts on how we can make it better. cheers!!

Okay. I have to say it’s a great podcast, targeted to the businessmen and investors in Mongolia. I really liked the way it started without musical intro, straight to business, lol.

I would, however, recommend buying a different microphone, as the speakers’ voices sound, er…, a bit monochrome. It’s slightly hard to distinguish people’s voice, but it should be okay if you buy appropriate equipment. A decent mic is definitely worth the price.

Also, if the speakers could make the discussion a little more moderated. It’s not necessarily a better idea, but I would do the following:

    a) If the speakers could brainstorm on main points, and ask the guests their prepared questions. You’d record the guests’ answers, and play them on your podcast with some headlines and anchoring by yourselves. I know this adds pre and post-production hassles, but i’m sure that ‘the marginal profit exceeds marginal expense’.

    b) Another variation is, to have only one speaker at a time. You guys can turns, and of course the speaker should mention all of their credits.

    c) This is applicable only when a) is accomplished i guess. it’s about introducing the major topics in the beginning with a music in the background. I’m talking about BBC-esque Mongolian news about business, just like Asia Business on BBC.

The simpler it is, the more people will listen. And KA-BOOM! You guys are famous! 🙂

Good luck, this podcast sounds interesting. I’ll be following you guys, as diligent as i can.

By the way, a friend of mine recently came to study in Kansas City, Missouri. He says he’s having a hard time finding a job. He needs some heads up. What would you advise him?

  • Nate

    Just two things.

1.) this is over-exxagerated. but something like this is bound to be popular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuNxHqwazs

2.) Can there be a podcast player embedded on the blog? I’d make it snappy by putting one and rather than downloading, the visitors can just play them.

    Best,

    Nate

    Mergen,
Did Lghava say that there are 900,000 people under 18 and receiving a disability pension who are getting the 70,000tg distribution on the Feb 12th podcast? Since I know a little bit about how people get the diagnosis of disability in Mongolia, I would really question the reliability of those numbers. I know that people with disabilities can certainly use that 70,000tg, but is that really productive and sustainable?

  • mergen

Hey Ulaanaa, I think we agree with you here. Most of us do believe that there are many urgent needs that need attention rather than plain handing out money. Infrastructure, education, business environment, etc all need improvement.
